Abstract
An elemental abundance study utilized AAT echelle spectrograms of the ultrasharp-lined superficially normal B6 IV star xi Octantis. The deri ved abundances fall within the trends of values derived for normal B m ain-sequence band stars. On average they are 0.28 dex less than solar.
