The paper deals with the non-linear vibration of homogeneous elastic p
lates of uniform thickness made of orthotropic material under uniform
heating. The governing partial differential equations are deduced by t
he method of constant deflection contour lines, proposed by Mazumdar a
nd Jones and subsequently modified by Sinha Ray and Banerjee. The time
-dependent non-linear differential equation has finally been solved by
the simple and elegant method of Adomian.
