C. Sartor et al., EXPERIMENTAL NOSOCOMIAL INFECTION SURVEIL LANCE IN A MIDDLE RANGE HOSPITAL BY A STANDARDIZED EPIDEMIOLOGIC SURVEY, Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 23(3), 1993, pp. 250-257
For a middle range hospital (12 000 patients/year) without computerize
d network,a continuous epidemiological surveillance of nosocomial infe
ctions in care units provides some problems. However, this method is b
etter than a surveillance by the microbiological laboratory, because i
t involves the active participation of medical staff The surveillance
system we describe here uses the participation of a multidisciplinary
team (epidemiologist, biologist, pharmacist), all members of the Comit
tee of Infection Control : CLIN. In order to reach a maximal standardi
zation to exchange future informations, the help of the CLIN of an uni
versity hospital has been request.
