The isolation of K. kingae from the osteoarticular fluid of a young ch
ild is reported. K. kingae is a commensal of the upper respiratory tra
ct and since its description in 1976 it has been increasingly reported
in bone and joint infections in children. Other presentations are end
ocarditis and bacteraemia. A review of the literature was done.
