M. Rac et Jm. Spaeth, INVESTIGATION OF IRON RELATED ZERO PHONON LINES IN INP FE USING THE MAGNETIC CIRCULAR-DICHROISM OF OPTICAL-ABSORPTION, Solid state communications, 86(4), 1993, pp. 213-215
The magnetic circular dichroism of optical absorption (MCDA) is used t
o investigate zero-phonon (ZP) lines and related phonon sidebands in I
nP:Fe. The two known charge states of Fe in InP are Fe2+ and Fe3+. Mea
surements of the optical transitions in InP:Fe reveal a remarkable hig
h number of ZP lines due to crystal-field and spin-orbit splitting of
the Fe2+ level. We present for the first time highly resolved MCDA spe
ctra of the ZP charge transfer transitions from Fe3+ to the 5E and 5T2
manifold of Fe2+. Using the tagged-MCDA technique we are able to conf
irm the assignement of the ZP lines to Fe3+.
