Abstract
Lakhani's (1991) analysis of the retention intentions of junior office rs in the U.S. Army is reviewed from a symbolic interaction and partic ipant observer perspective. Several recommendations for an improved an alysis of the data are presented as derived from symbolic interaction interpretations.
