Abstract
The evaluation of airborne fibre concentrations is a major task for im mission control. Besides asbestos the detection of respirable man made mineral fibres is of increasing importance. An identification of poss ible emission sources can be obtained by mathematical pattern recognit ion techniques applied to quantitative SEM/EDX-results of microscopic fibres.
