Abstract
The synthesis of 2,2'-dimethyl-6,6'-diphenyl-4,4' -bipyrimidine is des cribed. In the Solid state the molecule is centrosymmetric and is thus in the s-trans conformation. A semi-empirical calculation shows that, irrespective of the medium, the molecule conserves this preferential conformation.
