Abstract
The responsivity expression of a pyroelectric detector with a surround ing substrate is given. The calculation of the responsivity in this ca se is compared with that for a suspended case. The effect of the surro unding substrate cannot be neglected for small r1f1/2, where r1 is the radius of the electrode and f is the frequency.
