Abstract
An adult Red-headed Falcon (Falco chicquera) pirated a partially eaten bandicoot (Bandicota sp.) from an adult male Montagu's Harrier (Circu s pygargus) after an aerial pursuit. This report is the first instance of piracy described for this falcon. Fewer than half of the 39 specie s in Falco have been observed pirating prey.
