Abstract
An X-ray diffraction structural analysis and spectral study were carri ed out on crystals of urylimino)-3-methyl-4-nitro-3-thiolene-1,1-dioxi de obtained by the nitrosylation of 3-methyl-4-nitro-3-thiolene 1,1-di oxide in tetrahydrofuran. The reaction conditions presumably facilitat e the formation of iminoxyl and alpha-tetrahydrofuryl radicals with su bsequent recombination. The formation of alpha-tetrahydrofuran is impo rtant evidence for the existence of the starting compound in NH-nitron e form.
