Abstract
This overview shows the development and structure of the documenation system in Gottingen (Allphar-Medium) as a combination of data bank and specialized library, which differs from such information systems as M edline or Current Contents, which only allow free literature searches. In Gottingen, the material is classified under approx. 1500 headings according to special field, pharmaceutical products group, etc. Search es for specific headings combined with detailed parameters increase us age together with other data banks and libraries as demonstrated in se veral examples.
