Ev. Obrucheva et al., NEW PHASES IN FE-ND ALLOYS OBTAINED BY QUENCHING FROM THE LIQUID-STATE, Metal science and heat treatment, 34(9-10), 1992, pp. 562-566
The study of phase formation processes in alloys based on rare-earth a
nd transition metals under equilibrium and nonequilibrium conditions i
s of interest for the establishment of the regularities involved in ob
taining a high-coercivity state in them. In recent years, papers have
appeared devoted to the investigation of the magnetic properties and s
tructure of alloys in the Fe-Nd system. Data on the phase state of all
oys in the Fe-Nd system are mainly contradictory, especially for alloy
s obtained under nonequilibrium cooling conditions. In this paper, we
present the results of an investigation of the phase composition and m
agnetic properties of alloys in the Fe-Nd or Fe-Co-Nd system after que
nching from the liquid state and subsequent annealing. In the alloys,
we observe ferromagnetic phases having different Curie point temperatu
res. We determine the conditions for obtaining a high-coercivity state
in the alloys.
