Abstract
A study is made of the rheological properties of dilute hydrosols cons isting of aggregates of ultradisperse diamond particles (UDD). Data fr om calculation of the degree of immobilization of the solvent by the U DD aggregates is compared with data from sedimentation analysis. A met hod is proposed to evaluate the fractal dimension, which was 2.1-2.3 f or the UDD aggregates. An analysis of the dependence of the fractal di mension on temperature, ionic force, and the pH of the medium showed t hat a single mechanism is probably responsible for aggregation under t he given conditions.
