Abstract
The surface pressure, pi, of a film of water adsorbed on the surface o f graphitized, thermal carbon black (GTCB) is calculated from the heat s and angles of wetting. The resulting value of pi is used to evaluate the surface enthalpy and entropy of GTCB and graphite. The molecular theory of wetting is shown to be applicable to the GTCB (graphite)-wat er system.
