Abstract
An efficient synthesis of (3S) 1,3-di-tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy-6-iod ohexane, a chiral iodo derivative useful for the preparation of functi onalised 1,7-dioxaspiro[5.5]undecanes from gamma-butyrolactone is desc ribed.
