Abstract
(2E,4E,8E)4,6-dimethyl-2,4,8-decatrien-7-one (1) and (2E,4Z,8E)-4,6-di methyl-2,4,8-decatrien-7-one (II), in an approximate ratio of 75:25, h ave been identified as the female sex pheromone components of Matsucoc cus josephi. The structure of I and II was determined by mass spectrom etric and infrared techniques and microreactions.
