Abstract
Double fluorescence staining with o-phthalaldehyde (OPT) and propidium diiodide (PI) was applied to measure the nuclear protein SH/DNA ratio in species differing in 2C DNA content. It has been shown that protei n SH/DNA ratio decreases along with the increase in 2C DNA content. In endosperm, this ratio is higher than in meristematic nuclei of the sa me species.
