Security video imagery has been used by the Engineering Photogrammetry
Unit at City University to determine the height of a person robbing a
betting office. The problem of selecting the correct functional model
where a network is geometrically weak and consequently unreliable is
both illustrated and stressed. Controlled tests suggest that appropria
te software and detailed analysis can produce both precise and accurat
e estimates. Benefit to the legal profession of this particular measur
ement technique is not apparent, due to non-photogrammetric limitation
s.
