J. Lipka et al., INFLUENCE OF MECHANICAL ACTIVATION ON THE MOSSBAUER-SPECTRA OF THE SULFIDES, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 76(1-4), 1993, pp. 183-184
Mossbauer spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spe
ctroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction were
used to identify changes of surface, structure and spectroscopic prope
rties of sulfide minerals produced by mechanical activation. In the pr
esent study we report the results of chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), Pyrite (Fe
S2), cinnabar (HgS), bornite (Cu5FeS4) and zinc sulfide (ZnS). The inf
luence of energy input to the mill and the nature of grinding environm
ent have been investigated upon the Fe contamination of the materials.
