Abstract
Raman scattering measurements yielding 26 vibrational mode frequencies , along with their depolarization ratios, are reported. A force-consta nt model, originally developed for C60, is extended to C70 and is show n to result in good agreement with these measurements using two adjust able parameters to fit 26 observed Raman and 16 infrared modes.
