Abstract
A simplified analytical calculation of homogeneous properties and stre sses of a beam made up of several orthotropic materials is given. Test s have been realized with existing solutions such as: classic theory, three-dimensional finite elements and experimental data. It is shown t hat the analytical method proposed gives a good result for beams with a simple cross-section: thin-wall, closed partitioned section filled u p or not by foam, etc.
