K. Hanaoka et al., BEAM INSTABILITY DUE TO HIGHER-ORDER MODES OF APS CAVITIES IN THE TRISTAN ACCUMULATION RING, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 329(1-2), 1993, pp. 16-20
Shifts of resonant frequencies of the APS cavity were measured as a fu
nction of the tuner position and cavity temperature. From this measure
ment we found that cavity temperature warm-up plays an important part
concerning coherent instability. There was evidence that the accumulat
ion current was limited by resonance with higher-order modes. We could
identify which cavity mode was responsible for the transverse coheren
t instability.
