Jr. Perfect et al., UNCOMMON INVASIVE FUNGAL PATHOGENS IN THE ACQUIRED-IMMUNODEFICIENCY-SYNDROME, Journal of medical and veterinary mycology, 31(2), 1993, pp. 175-179
This communication lists fungi reported to cause invasive infection in
patients with AIDS. It excludes the well known and common fungi that
infect these patients such as Candida, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma, Cocc
idioides and Aspergillus. It is likely that these less common fungal p
athogens will be seen more frequently in the enlarging AIDS population
as it is continuously exposed to many of these potentially opportunis
tic fungi.
