Abstract
The course of the investigated reaction at the slag-graphite interface is accompanied with the appearance of electric voltage. The phenomeno n is explained from the standpoint of ionic structure of slag melts. U nder natural conditions, the considered reaction proceeds with deviati on from stoichiometry. The extent of this deviation can be varied by a pplying electric voltage from an external power source to the reaction surface.
