Abstract
A theoretical analysis of metal alloy crystallization within the frame work of non-equilibrium thermodynamics has been proposed. The minimal production of entropy in the alloy under the steady-state conditions o f two-phase zone movement has been shown to occur at a unique value of interdendritic size.
