Ob. Girin et Gm. Vorobev, A COMPLETE CHARACTERIZATION OF THE RELATIVE SURFACE-ENERGY ANISOTROPYIN METAL CRYSTALS, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (6), 1992, pp. 84-93
Within the framework of a broken bond model applied to the (001) plane
rotated about axes [0101, [110], [210], and [310], a complete charact
erization of the relative surface energy anisotropy in metal crystals
with face-centered cubic, body-centered cubic and hexagonal close-pack
ed lattices has been given. The anisotropic surface-energy distributio
n on the spheres of gnomostereographic projections is characterized by
a minimum at poles [111] and [001] (FCC), [110] (BCC), [00.1], [10.0]
and [10.1] (HCP) and by a maximum at poles [102] (FCC), [117] and [11
1] (BCC), [11.4] and [11.1] (HCP-crystals).
