Abstract
We calculate the asymptotic growth of t(n)(M(p)(F),) and c(n)(M(p)(F) , ), the trace and ordinary *-codimensions of p x p matrices with inv olution. To do this we first calculate the asymptotic growth of t(n) a nd then show that c(n) similar or equal to t(n).
