J. Mitterauer et P. Till, DYNAMIC FIELD (DF)-EMISSION - STABILITY-CRITERIA OF MICROSCOPIC FIELD-EMISSION SITES, Applied surface science, 67(1-4), 1993, pp. 17-22
In its original form the model of ''dynamic field emission'' (DF-emiss
ion) describes the cathode spot of a vacuum arc as a system in dynamic
equilibrium by means of several closed feedback loops, but it even ha
s been extended to cover also the initial phase of cathode induced vac
uum breakdown. The model now is applied to analyze the thermal stabili
ty of field emission sites, which are used for single technical emitte
rs as well as for field emitter arrays in vacuum microelectronics.
