The temperature dependence of the heat capacity of C-60 fullerene in t
he range of 5 to 340 K has been studied by calorimetry. The temperatur
es and enthalpies of physical transformations were measured. From the
experimental results, the thermodynamic functions C-p(o), H-o(T) - H-o
(O), S-o(T), and G(o)(T) - H-o(O) were calculated for the 0-340 K rang
e. The zero entropy S-o(O) and the contribution of configurational ent
ropy S-c(o) to it, which is due to the transformation of fullerene to
a glassy modification at 86 K, were estimated. The thermochemical para
meters of formation of C-60, viz., Delta(f)H(o), Delta(f)S(o), Delta(f
)G(o) and logK(f)(o), at 298.15 K and at the standard pressure were ca
lculated.
