Ethyl alpha-ethoxymethyleneacetoacetate and alpha-ethoxymethylenebenzo
ylacetate react with benzylidenehydrazine and p-bromobenzoylhydrazine
to give hydrazones of the corresponding ethyl alpha-formylacylacetates
. It was established by H-1 NMR and IR spectroscopy that hydrazones, w
hich were obtained from benzylidenehydrazine, and p-bromobenzoylhydraz
one of ethyl alpha-formylacetoacetate exist in the ketoenamine (ketoen
hydrazine) form, whereas p-bromobenzoylhydrazone of ethyl alpha-formyl
benzoylacetate exists in the enolimine (enolhydrazone) form.
