Abstract
Formation of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of novolak resins has been s tudied and the films have been microscopically characterized by an ato mic force microscope (AFM). It is found that uniform LB films are form ed by using fractionated novolak resins. AFM measurements indicate tha t the LB films formed from the novolak resins of low molecular weight have ordered structures.
