Binuclear complexes of manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(I
I) and zinc(II) with kanamycin sulphate have been synthesized and char
acterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, electronic and ESR spect
ra in order to throw more light on their structures. The spectral resu
lts obtained indicate octahedral geometry around manganese(II), cobalt
(II) and nickel(II), distorted octahedral geometry around copper(II) a
nd tetrahedral geometry around zinc (II) ions.
