Abstract
A pseudopotential function, which can in a simple and reasonable manne r represent the molecular interactions of many kinds of fluid by varyi ng its parameter values, is proposed. A simple perturbed equation of s tate was developed from the proposed potential function together with the Barker-Henderson perturbation theory and was successfully applied to the prediction of thermodynamic properties of the square-well and t he hard-core Lennard-Jones fluids. The predicted results are in good a greement with computer simulation data.
