AN EXPERIMENTAL-DETERMINATION OF SOME DOUBLE-IONIZATION ENERGIES OF CARBON-MONOXIDE

Double charge transfer (DCT) spectroscopy has been used to measure the energies of some low-lying electronic states of CO2+. Two singlet sta tes of the dication were measured at 41.8 and 46.2 eV, using H+ as the projectile ion. These measurements are compared with data from three previous DCT spectroscopy investigations in which proton projectile io ns were used. In addition, a triplet state of CO2+ was measured at 41. 9 eV using F+ projectile ions.
