Abstract
The thermal decomposition of dimethyl zinc has been investigated in a static system between 588 and 673 K in the pressure range from 8 to 37 2 mbar. Gaseous products are methane, ethylene, ethane, propane, propy lene and butane. The formation of a new solid product of the compositi on CH3(ZnCH2)(x)ZnCH3 (x = 3,2...4,0) has been detected.
