Abstract
Selective oxidation of ethylbenzene, n-propylbenzene and n-butylbenzen e affords the corresponding ketone and alcohol in good yield catalyzed by organic polymer supported ruthenium complexes under 1 atm. of air or oxygen at 105-degrees-C the absence of solvent in the heterogeneous phase. The catalytic selectivity to total ketone and alcohol ranges f rom 98% to 100% with the different ruthenium-polymer-bound 2,2-bipyrid ine complexes.
