Abstract
The paper reports a digital underfrequency relay for shedding and rest oration of loads in an electric power system coupled with a 3-zone dis tance algorithm for the protection of feeder lines. The relay incorpor ates self-diagnosing techniques for detecting failures. The prototype developed has been satisfactorily tested for its performance.
