Abstract
A comparison between neutron-gamma and gamma-gamma techniques was carr ied out at the Callide Mine in 140 mm quality control, water-filled bo reholes. The results show that the vertical resolution of the two tech niques in delineating the coal seams is comparable. However, the neutr on-gamma technique proved superior in predicting the ash content of th e coal seams. The standard deviation between the chemical assays and t he neutron-gamma and gamma-gamma predictions were 2.3 and 3.2% ash, re spectively.
