2 YEARS OF OPERATION OF A LARGE SOLAR COOLING PLANT

A solar plant was installed with a surface area of 440 m2 of evacuated -tube collectors, a reflecting surface of the same area and an absorpt ion refrigeration system for air-conditioning the CERIT building of Po rdenone. A 43 m3 heat-storage unit, at temperatures of 80-90-degrees-C , and a 150 m3 cold-storage unit were also installed. These components form the largest solar cooling plant in Europe. After two years of op eration, it is possible to evaluate the project as a whole, and to app reciate the contribution of the flat solar reflector and the working o f the absorption unit.
