Abstract
We present the case of a patient who sustained a gunshot wound in very close proximity to the left external carotid artery. The bullet was l ocated exactly over the typical location of the internal carotid arter y. Total agenesis of the internal carotid artery, a rare anomaly, was differentiated from thrombosis of the internal carotid artery.
