Cardiac luxation caused by blunt thoracic trauma carries a high mortal
ity rate. We present a case of traumatic diaphragmatic rupture, in com
bination with herniation of the stomach into the pericardial sac, peri
cardial rupture, and cardiac luxation. The recent literature is review
ed and diagnostic difficulties and procedures are discussed.
