Abstract
Ninety cattle, ranging in age from calves to adults cows, which were s eronegative to BHV1 and intradermally tested with a concentrated BHV1 and intradermally tested with a concentrated BHV1 antigen, did not ser oconvert. The total amount of antigen administered did not induce any detectable humoral response which is not consistent with previous publ ished findings. The current investigations indicate that seroconversio n was caused by infection. In herds free of the virus seroconversion a fter intradermal testing seems improbable.
