Abstract
A method based on reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection is described f or the determination of the impurity aminopropiophenone in phenylpropa nolamine bulk drugs and compressed tablets. The only sample preparatio n necessary for the analysis is its dilution with the mobile phase. Th e practical detection limit is 30 ppm. The method has been applied for the analysis of commercial samples.
