Abstract
The study of neurohypophyseal function in various neuropsychiatric dis eases is interesting because: (1) The main neurohypophyseal peptides v asopressin (AVP) and oxytocin (OT) share by themselves modulatory infl uence on behavior. (2) Hypothalamo-posterior pituitary axis is directl y influenced by modifications of central neurotransmitter metabolism i nvolved in behavior control.
