Fe. Lentz et Ej. Daly, IS THE BEHAVIOR OF ACADEMIC CHANGE AGENTS CONTROLLED METAPHYSICALLY -AN ANALYSIS OF THE BEHAVIOR OF THOSE WHO CHANGE BEHAVIOR, School psychology quarterly, 11(4), 1996, pp. 337-352
The issue of treatment integrity in the area of academic interventions
is one of promoting generalization of change agent behavior across ti
me, settings, and target children. Contextual variables are examined t
hat affect the likelihood of treatment integrity by considering the co
ntingencies operating for change agents and a matrix of social interac
tion patterns between target children, direct change agents, and indir
ect change agents. It is proposed that strategies described in the gen
eralization literature are equally applicable to change agents to incr
ease fidelity of implementation. Finally, factors related to change ag
ents that need to be considered in academic intervention are summarize
d and recommendations for future research in this area are made.
