Abstract
The inclusion complex of the calcium salt of (S)-2-(3-phenoxyphenyl)pr opionic acid with cyclomaltoheptaose (beta-cyclodextrin) was investiga ted by H-1 NMR spectroscopy. The stoichiometry of the complex was dete rmined by the continous variation method and the association constant by the Benesi-Hildebrand procedure. Measurements of proton selective r elaxation rates allowed the dynamics of the complex to be investigated and the determination of intermolecular H-1{H-1}-NOE enhancements rev ealed the stereochemistry in solution.
