F. Shiraishi et al., REPLACEMENT OF TROPONIN IN BULLFROG SKELETAL MYOFIBRILS BY RABBIT SKELETAL AND BOVINE CARDIAC TROPONINS, Biomedical research, 14(2), 1993, pp. 93-97
Troponin in bullfrog skeletal myofibrils was found to be replaced comp
letely with either rabbit skeletal or bovine cardiac troponin added to
the incubating solution of pH 6.2 at 25-degrees-C. The myofibrils, in
which troponin was replaced with rabbit skeletal troponin, showed alm
ost the same Ca2+- or Sr2+-activated ATPase as the intact bullfrog or
rabbit skeletal myofibrils. On the other hand, the myofibrils hybridiz
ed with bovine cardiac troponin showed the Ca2+- or Sr2+-activation pr
ofile of the ATPase characteristic of cardiac myofibrils.
