Abstract
A novel organic molecule with donor-acceptor structure and long-chain was synthesized. Its stable Langmuir films were formed at the air-wate r interface. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films with a Z-type mode were depo sited at appropriate experimental conditions. The LB films were charac terized by UV-visible spectroscopy, electron diffraction and small ang le X-ray diffraction measurements. The nonlinear optic behavior of its monolayer was evaluated from the second harmonic generation.
