Sr. Uts et al., TRANSCUTANEOUS LASER IRRADIATION OF THE BLOOD IN THERAPY OF GRAVE FORMS OF ATOPIC-DERMATITIS IN CHILDREN, Vestnik dermatologii i venerologii, (11-12), 1992, pp. 11-14
Validates the efficacy of laser irradiation of the blood in the treatm
ent of children with grave forms of atopic dermatitis. Employment of a
n original device for irradiation of biologic tissues, providing retur
n of some of scattered radiation via a reflecting mirror, slight compr
ession and immersion at the site of the fiber optic lightguide contact
with the skin, makes the transcutaneous variant preferable as against
the intravascular one. Transcutaneous laser irradiation of the blood
exerts a sedative, detoxifying and antiinflammatory action. A good cli
nical effect was achieved in 20 of the 24 patients with atopic dermati
tis, the mean length of the disease remission has made up 11.2 months.
